hi everyone,
here is another noob in home recording AND alesis multimix 8 mixer. :o

I wonder how can I adjust sample rate, in Control panel (Windows XP SP3).
I go to Control Panel, open "Alesis USB Audio",
and see it says "sample rate 44.1 kHz".

I tried to record at 192k in Audition 3.0, but it says I cannot record,
because "..session sample rate does not match my hardware sample rate..".

now I wonder how can I change sample rate?
only option I can change is Latency settings.

thanks in advance!

i do not think the multimix 8 can handle that sample rate it may be able to do 48 kHz I honestly dont think sample rate makes a huge difference, its going to make latency worse and the music is going to be compressed down to 44.1 kHz when you make a cd out of it.

hi! the Alesis multimix8 usb 2.0 can handle a sample rate of 44.1 to 96khz at 24 bit.
The problem is that you can't edit the sample rate in the Alesis control panel.
when you play sound on your computer the Alesis will run standard at 44.1khz core audio.
When operating in your DAW go to settings and find the playback window, here you can those Alesis core audio wich will run at 44.1khz.
But in your case you want to select Alesis Bit accurate, the Alesis will adapt the sample rate now to your open project.
I have the same multimix and i strugled for a while to find out, you can check the sample rate when opening the Alesis control panel.

Hope i helpen, let me know.

Cheers,

Odin
