Issue with Alesis io26

I've had the io26 for a few years now and it's mostly ok. But sometimes I get some issues where either a don't get an output (either to speakers or headphones from either of the headphone outs) or inputs (using mic or guitar into several of the inputs). What I have to do in these cases is to tap or press firmly on the top of the unit. If I can find the right place to hit, then it starts working. It seems very much a physical problem and I'm not pointing fingers at drivers or software.

I opened up the unit and couldn't see any obvious issues like loose or frayed wiring or shielding.

Anyone else have any similar issues and find a way around it?
 
My buddy had the same problem and bought a UA101. Much better unit....although the Alesis was somewhat groundbreaker when it came out.
