IO 26 Firewire Problems

Sorry to repost, I know how people get on these forums, but I'm going crazy trying to get this to work so hopefully a new post will get some attention.

I'm running Lion 10.7.3 on a 2.2 GHz Intel Core i7 with 4GB and when I plug in my io26, I get a green light for 44.1 but nothing for the firewire. I've tried using a different firewire cable, updating drivers, resetting PRAM and SMC, starting in 32bit kernel, even using a partition with windows 7 with new drivers. Nothing seems to work. I'd give up on it except a lot of people seem to be having the same problem. Please please please if anyone knows how to fix this, let me know

It's an old post, but I am desperatly looking for a solution to run the Alesis io26 on my pc with win7 64. I get the outputs to work, but I can't get any Input, not even on the led-meters on the alesis itself. Could the onboard firewire port cause such problems? Could it help to mount an additional firewire card with TI chipset? Thanks for any help..
