A friend at work has an Alesis MultiMix 8 USB FX. Will that work as an interface to a computer with Reaper?

    Yes it will.

Two things to be aware of though. First, the USB output is only 2 channels (the main stereo output), not the individual tracks.

Second, it uses the existing audio drivers on your operating system rather than dedicated ASIO ones. This could well give too much latency if you try to monitor after a round trip via your computer. You'll have to set up a monitor mix on your mixer instead.
That's what I do. I drink and I know things.
