Hi dear community,
I bought an Alesis iO4 audio interface and made a bad experience which I want to share.
The iO4 sample rate cannot be set to 48 kHz in the system properties as the dropdown menu is disabled. So, the interface is unchangeable in the mode: "2 Channels, 44100 Hz, 16 Bit".
My systems runs an AMD Phenom II X4 processor and Windows 7 Pro 64 Bit.
First I thought I missed to adjust some settings which are required for operating with a sample rate of 48 kHz.
So I contacted the Alesis support describing this issue.
Here's the official answer:
Conclusion:
The Alesis iO4 does not work properly with AMD processors. Problems can occur and will not be solved.
So, I hope this post helps people who plan to buy the iO4: Just use it if you're runnin an Intel processor.
Is anybody experiencing the same problem?
I think I will send the iO4 back and buy another audio interface.
Thanks for your attention
