I am using Ableton Live 9 Standard. For my equipment, I am using an Alesis iO4 24-bit USB audio interface and a Shure M57 dynamic microphone. I have the appropriate driver installed.
My problem arises when I record audio, there is a small high-pitched noise/hum that is also recorded onto the track. I don't know if the problem is my microphone, the audio interface, or my Ableton/driver settings? I know the problem isn't in the output because the noise stops as soon as the track stops/there is no such noise when recording MIDI.
I just exported the track to see if that sound comes with it, but I don't hear it. Even if the sound doesn't come up in the final product, what could be the reason for its coming up in Ableton?
