Ableton tempo change mid way through song

Hey guys,

I'm trying to change tempo mid song, going from 25 to 50 bpm. However, it is really delayed and takes about half a second to actually kick in and change the tempo.

Anyone got any ideas on how to get it to change tempo instantly? It works when going from 50 down to 25 but not vice versa.

Thanks :)

Depending how you are doing this, Ableton is probably synchronizing so it works with the beat. You most likely have to turn off the synchronization.

Couple of things, first look at the launch quantization under options. There you can enable or disable. If you want to control it globally, top screen, left row of buttons, there is a global setting. This determines globally how Ableton launches/handles changes.

If you are in session view, you can type in the BPM setting in the session name: On the scene name type in 100 BMP, that sets all clips for that scene to that tempo. If you want another scene have another tempo, type in the new value as a part of the name. It will launch based on the global launch setting.

In arrangement view, just view the tempo automation and make sure your automation envelope is not sloping either way (The envelope automation will be in the master track).

That is the simplest way to describe it, if that isn't enough information, lots of Youtube videos showing the various ways, just type in, temp changes in Ableton. Doesn't matter what version, I think this has remained the same for at least last three versions.

Hope this helps.
