Teac 144 advice

Hi guys

i have 2 x teac 144 that wont play or forward and rewind tape .

Could anyone recommend a uk based reparr guy for these if all else fails but doctor zees ( thanks ! ) tutorials may be enough.


Does anyone have any pointers on a place i can source the rubber components in the uk.

Looking i think to attempt fully updating the belts , idlers and roller .

I dont fully know how bad they are yet.

One wont go forwards or backwards.

One wont really do much in the way of transport at all other than make noise and move the tape at a snails pace while chewing it.

Both were working fine until stored by previous owners for to long without use.

any advice would be much appreciated .
