MIDI stereo output??? CUBASE 5

Hello!

I have this problem: I download free VST instruments and then trying to use them in Cubase 5,
but with many instruments I get this text:

The mixer configuration expected "acidrack" to have Output 1: Stereo,
-> The instrument currently has Output 1: Mono
-> The instrument channel will be silent.

So I really would like to know how to set this Mono to Stereo... where to go, what to do? Please Help!
 
I don't use Cubase, so I can't help much.

But have you tried setting up a stereo track, then loading the VST instrument?
 
Doesn't work that way, I'm afraid.

- Press F11 to open the VST Instrument rack.
- Insert the relevant instrument into an available slot.
- Add Track -> MIDI Track.
- Link output of MIDI track to VST Instrument.

Do you still get the same message?

- Click the small outputs icon directly to the left of the instrument in the VST Instruments rack.

What does it say?
