spitting sound on cd???

I just burned a song to cd, went to play it in my car, and in the beggining of the song, during a quiet passage, I heard a kind of a "spitting" sound. (It almost sounded like I could hear the disc spinning) As the song built up in volume, the sound became hardly noticeable, however, I can't figure out what this sound is that just kills subtle moments of the song! Any ideas???

well....

play it in another cd player. Is the loogy there? If not its your car, if it is, check 2 things.. is the cd warpped(place it on a flat surface) or check your noise to your cd recorder.

Does the skipping occur in the same place on the disc each time you play it?

I've had problems burning the cheapie CD-Rs. I found that they would play OK in some players, but would skip, causing the symptoms you describe, in others. Try playing the disc in other players.

Try burning it at a slower speed - I've found that, too can make a difference.

Hope this helps -
