I was wondering if anyone knows if there is a way to set up sony stereo speakers as monitors for the BR-1180cd. The back of the speakers are just take wiring. If I hook it up somehow to a sony tuner is it possible or something??? Also can anyone recommend a good microphone for vocals on the BR. Thanks.

Welcome to the site, neighbor. :)

You need to be more clear, as to what it is that you have, as far as gear. I assume you just have passive speakers, and wish to know if you can use a typical stereo receiver to amp your speakers. The answer is yes, but not the best way to go.

The last question is a tough one to answer, without knowing what it is you are wanting to accomplish.

yes. you would need a cable w/ 1/4" male to rca males(phones jack out of your recorder) but only if your receiver has aux inputs or tape/phono in inputs, which it should. or dual male rca to single male rca cable & run from line out of the recorder to the line in on your computer if you have a decent speaker system for your computer.

as far as a general purpose vocal mic-Shure sm58.
