Anybody use one? I've been using a dr5 for years now, and I'm getting tired of the sounds, but I just can't part with it because I'm so used to the way it works, even though I know it's so outdated. How bout the 770? How does it sound? I would assume it would be fairly easy to make the switch, because the operation must be fairly similar. Anyway, just looking for some 770 users' opinions.

I LOVE the 770--tons of sounds & you can, of course, create your own patterns. What I like most is that you can also adjust any pattern by choosing a different drum kit, reverb and "ambience".
I typically "save" patterns and fills in a specific order as User patterns then when recording just jog back-&-forth between them. Couldn't be easier! As I recall, when recording your own patterns you can also just play the pads without having to be a slave to some predetermined time signature and/or note length.
