pop-ups and other annoyances

So I got my SE 8 up and running, everything is working great. I'm on another site (Ourstage)
and I keep gettng pop-ups from Adobe Flash, been going on for weeks actually, but I'm
getting annoyed. So I go to control panel and remove Abobe Flash. No more popups...cool
I go back to bring up PTSE8 and it sez I need Flash player to continue. Now it wont let me download Flash, no matter what I do turning off Firewalla nd other measures to allow download.
Is there a workaround that will let me have my PTSE back. It was working great.

Hi.
IIRC flash is necessary for the quick start menu.
If you open a session by double clicking a ptf file instead of the PT icon, it'll bypass the quick start menu and let you straight in to that session.
Once you're in, go to preferences in Pro Tools and look at the bottom left of the display tab.
Uncheck "Show Quick Start dialog when Pro Tools starts.

PT should now start successfully when you launch the main exe.


Of course this doesn't fix the fact that you don't have flash player anymore. You're on your own with that one.

Yeah that's the problem...it won't let me download adobeflash. Sez my security level is too hi
although I have disabled everything...kinda scarey to be w/o protection.
Im gonna try uninstalling c400 and ptse and start over. Try the d-load w/o them present
