How to set specific input # on a track

    Hi there,
My recording setup is described in my signature. I just got Pro Tools 9. When trying to hook up my interface under Hardware setup, I select my interface, the TASCAM US-1800, and it sees it. Under playback engine, my interface is also selected there.

But when I go to add a new mono audio track, I'd like to select which input from my interface to record from (there are 16 inputs), but I can't seem to see them. If I go to "I/O" on the selected track and click "input" the options are "none, interface or bus". When I hover over "interface" it give me the following options:
    - Built-in microphone 1 (mono) - text is yellow bold
    - Built-in microphone 2 (mono) - text is yellow bold
    - Built-in input 1 (mono)
    - Built-in Input 2 (mono

I have never used Pro Tools, but with other DAW's it always shows me an entire list of each available input on my interface to record from for each track.

I wondered if maybe my interface wasn't compatible, but it is because it will play back audio through Pro Tools (I tested it by importing an audio track and playing it back).

I'm assuming I'm just missing something simple, but can't figure it out so...What's the deal here? Any help?

I think you need to go to setup > IO

Click the input tab, select all in the list and delete them.
Then click default, which should populate the list with the tascam inputs.

Do the same as above for the output tab.

You need to do this because even though you selected your interface, Protools is still remembering the built in IO.

Thanks Steenamaroo, it worked like a charm! Thanks so much for the easy step by step advice. Now that I have Pro Tools set up, it's time to try and set up my new Behringer BCF2000 Control Surface I picked up used (basically brand new) for $40 cheaper than retail ($180 CAD)!
