I have recently acquired an XT 20 which appeared to work when I purchased it. The head hours are fairly low, and all appeared well. Upon receiving the unit, and powering up, the display would not light. The tape will also not load. The head runs, and the transport button lights flash briefly on power up. Sometimes powering down the display will flash quickly. The transport buttons otherwise do not work.
Does anyone have any idea what may be occuring? Alesis, of course wants to sell new gear, so they were basically no help. I have yet to find someone locally who repairs ADATs.
At this point I have to think its something really simple, and being technically minded I would attempt a fix, but I am at a loss where to look. I feel like something must have been jostled in transport and other than power to the transport lights, it seems like there is not constant power to the faceplate section of the recorder.
