Setting Up USB Mic In Albelton 5 [Help]

I have a Samson USB C01U condenser mic and I have my ASIO drivers set up right in Albelton but when I play back anything that I've recorded there's crackles throughout the track. I also get some kind of VST System Link error from time-to-time.

So whats the right way to setup my mic so it runs smooth with Albelton?

plug mic into computer, start ableton, on your menu bar go to live>preferences select the audio tab, under audio device click the input device drop down, select your mic... I've never seen the VST error you are getting so I have no answer for that one, as for the crackles, how much cpu are you using, over 50% you will start having the audio playback effected, otherwise it could just be a defective mic...
