Yamaha DX7 repair - worth it?

I also need the same battery. I just aquired a DX7 with seemingly the same issue. It turns on but the patches make only slight blips if at all. The voltage on the battery reads 2.3 so I'm hoping to get a battery and get it going. The G battery on that diagram looks to be the one.
 
Just a brief note from the future (well 2013) to say that...with regards to the ORIGINAL issue the weird bending during note attack - I just solved it on my DX7! I'm afraid I was hitting buttons in desperation when I cracked it, but it was definitely related to "portamento" - specifically I set the "porta time" (function + 7) to 0 (it was on 99) and the problem disappeared. I then fiddled with portamento itself...now I am to scared to touch it again!

So there you are...no need for a reset and I am good to go!
