USB Microphone buzzing noise

My friends just bough a new headset(OV-Q6 USB HIFI Stereo Headphone Headset Microphone Mic for Laptop/PC/Compute) and it works OK when he plugs it into his laptop but there is a very annoying buzzing noise.

you might have to turn up your volume to hear it but it sometimes gets very loud.

What can we do to fix it?

Unplug the laptop from the power supply, run it on battery and see if that helps. Otherwise its the crappy A-D converter - for less than $25, what do you expect?

So it DOESN'T work ok... take it back and get something else.
