D Delmont Member Apr 1, 2017 #1 My Tascam digital recorder and my mic preamp both have phantom power switches to use with condensor mics. 1. Do I hit the one on the preamp, the one on the Tascam, or both? 2. Does it make a difference whether I'm using a line or mic input? Thanks!

D Delmont Member Apr 1, 2017 #3 Thanks! That was my first guess, but I didn't want to fry anything by experimenting.
Steenamaroo ... Apr 1, 2017 #4 +1. The preamp output and recorder input will usually be TRS or TS connectors. Phantom power wont be available on TRS/TS inputs. If your preamp happens to use XLR for line-level out, use an XLR female to TRS male to go between preamp and interface.
