Recording Roland TD9 Drums

Our band is laying down tracks and we have decided to have our drummer lay his tracks with his Roland TD9 and then replace the hits using the BFD software.

I have never used MIDI. I need each trigger on a different track. Can someone try to explain how I wire this and how I set up the MIDI tracks in Sonar?

Just use a MIDI interface...

If you want separate tracks, then duplicate the MIDI track as many times as you need, then erase events in order to get kick on T1, snare on 2, etc.

The MIDI will also playback the TD9... That is even easier, as it sounds really good!

You can also use a .Cal program to split the recorded midi track to individual channnels.....far less work.
