Portable USB Microphone recorder?

Hey,
as the title goes... Is there a wireless device that simply records an USB mic and then you can basically like put it in your computer or something? I haven't seen anyting like it, and I've been looking around without result. I feel like this should be an "easy" thing to do these days? Now... Are there these kinds of things?

USB devices are 'dumb' and need a computer to control them and work.

Anything that does work with them is going to have a little computer in it.

Just use a laptop or a tablet computer.

Well that sucks then... But what tablet computer can do this? Does it has USB port? If theres cheap ones, sure.

That's interesting... Still need a computer near though. Are there any other like it you may recommend?

I don't think I fully understand what you're looking for... do you mean something like a Bluetooth microphone?

The H4n that Arc mentioned doesn't need a computer nearby, if that's what you're asking.

Forget the idea of using usb mics and use regular mics with a stand-alone recorder.
(usb mics are for podcasting anyway...)
