Please Critique My Acoustic Drum Track

When I’m ready to add in more pieces of the kit…would it be better to close mic the crash or ride? I’ve only got one more small diaphragm condenser mic, so I’ll have to pick one or the other. The overheads will have to capture to other one.

For the toms I’ll use 57’s attached to the drum shell.

I point my cymbal mikes generally towards the cymbals, from a few feet. They all get picked up.
The hi-hat gets its own mic, about 9" away.
But that's just what works for me.

When I started recording drums, I'd have a specific mic on the hi-hat but I've found that I don't need that anymore. And I don't think I've ever miked the cymbals. The overheads {or in my case, the underheads} pick them up nicely. I put them under the level of the cymbals so the cymbals never overpower the kit.
