Optical, Multiband, Dynamic Compressor?

Is there a good thread/site that gives a good descriptions of different kinds of compressors? I want to know the difference between and Optical Compressor and Dynamic Compressor. Also, i'm familiar with Multiband, but I am wondering about any more info I can get on it and see what other types of compressors there are. Thanks!
