NT1a grill.

Cheers Alan! :p

The original capsule was slightly damaged so I went ahead and popped in a k47 style capsule and I'm glad I did.
It's really made a big difference!
A lot more smooth natural bass, and a lot less harsh high end. Seems to be working pretty well with my voice.

I wish I'd recorded proper before/after clips now. I didn't anticipate how great the difference would be!

Plus, it looks really cool now that I've got an open grill and no stupid rubber mount. :p

Oooo mic pictures.. I want!!

How hard is the capsule to replace? I've been considering trying to get a couple of mics like this and do some of the mods.

You're surprised you couldn't improve on what their PhD's spec'ed?? :D

It's no secret that that the stock design is less than perfect.
When I removed their inner mesh several months ago, I heard a very obvious difference.

Capsule replacement was very easy.
If you choose to just pop a new capsule in the rode rubber mount it would take no time at all.
I chose to cut their rubber mount out and use the provided mount, which still wasn't a big deal.
