No audio out

Recently got a Mac mini M1.
I use the headphone jack to feed my 2 monitors
audio plays from desktop
audio DOES NOT play from Cubase using Mac mini Headphone jack
If I use my USB audio interface, then I can hear my timeline.
Cant figure out why I am seeing meters but NOT hearing audio.
 
Most likely because Cubase has been set to use your interface as its sound device.

I'm not sure why you wouldn't connect your monitors to the interface.
 
Why are you using the Mac headphones? Cubase needs one audio device, It cannot do two - so you use the USB audio interface and run everything from there. You can't run cubase to the interface for ins and outs but also use the Mac headphones. Does your interface not have headphones output?
 
this all worked on Friday, why suddenly audio out of the mini does not work, but audio out of the USB interface does work (but this always worked, it all worked, just now suddenly it does not.)
