Is the ADA MP-1 (or MP-2) a good or bad buy?

I've been noticing a lot of old ADA MP-1 and MP-2 preamps at eBay. Anyone know why these lost favor? Anyone actually using one or the other? I had an MP-1 years ago and thought it was pretty decent, but it got confiscated in a tangled band break-up.

Since I have a cabinet but not a good head, I've been thinking about buying one of these along with a power amp. Any input, y'all? Pros and cons?

I have an MP-1, I like it. I think the reason that they are so common, and cheap is that so many were sold and then ADA went out of buisness. I really like the clean sounds on MP-1. The distortion is very mettalica-esque, so I don't use it. Overall its a fairly good, plus they are pretty cheap. BTW (spam), I just bought a computer so I need to sell some stuff to pay it off. I'm selling the MP-1, probably around $90, maybe less.
