This was all done in Reaper.

This is the first time I used the midi piano roll editor in Reaper to program the drums. I liked doing it that way so much that I have quit export to wav and pattern sequencer drum programming.

Bass guitar (slap bass) was recorded through a Sansamp RBI.

This is Green Onions with an organ vsti, guitar and bass.

Here's one more called R.a.i.d. The lyrics are about Redundant Array of Inexpensive Disks :D

Great youtube production, too.

I can do the solo parts of Green Onions with the left hand playing the bass line now. I would have liked to have done it that way for the video. I will probably redo it that way when the video has its 1 year anniversary or somethin'

That video can speed up the figuring out process for anyone interested in playing along. That's the right key and almost all the same notes as the most famous version recorded by Booker T and the MG's.

Good sounds. You are one talented dude. I'm almost there, except I've never been a good keyboard player.

Yeah I listened to Green Onions too, awesome stuff.

RAID sure is good. Very nice bass playing and a groovy beat.

What's more...you're not happy with making the music, which for me is tough enough...you even make the music video which is synced up closer than a man and his shadow.

i want to have a look at Reaper : i currently use Cubase as a recording medium:

would i make the change?

tell me something about it?

who owns it (as in the company/business)

I'm not much of a keyboard player either. I still just figure out bits and pieces of what I want to get done. The keyboard stuff I've recorded is almost all 1 hand. I do actually try to make musician progress on the keys though... scales, chords, progressions. None of my keyboard improvising is even mediocre though.

I've only had a keyboard for a few months. Before that, it was all guitars, basses, programmed drums & some vocals.
