Cakewalk Sonar

Hi Friends,

I am using Cakewalk Sonar 1.0 for home recording for many years, with Creative Sound Blaster 5.1 sound card. Two days back I’ve upgraded my sound card to Creative Audigy 7.1.

After that, I have facing some problems in recording. First I play keyboard in Audio Track 1 perfectly. Then, I tried to record vocal in the second track. Everything fine when I record the vocal, and I can clearly follow the orchestra recorded previously.

However, when I playback after 20-30 seconds, my vocal starting jumping forward the tempo, and during the final stage it is extremely different from the rhythm/temp of the orchestra.

Could you please help me? Anyhow I have decided to upgrade Sonar 1.0 to Sonar Home Studio 7.0 very soon. Will this help to resolve my problem?

I am awaiting your earliest reply. Many thanks.

Justin

This is a WAG *
Open Tempo view (or just step forward on the time line- maybe more than one tempo in the project? That can play with audio/position depending on the clip properties.

if your running the 2 cards at once the crystal timing on the cards wont be in sync... use the quickest card for audio playback + midi .. and use the slowest for midi only + soundfonts ..

also try increasing the mixing latency
in audio options > advanced >synchronization tick "full chase lock"

if your using asio open "asio panel" control panel (in audio options) and increase the buffer size
