Cakewalk pro 9 question

I have a recording question. If I am recording vocals in cakewalk and I have an effect on the track say for example a delay, is there anyone adjust the setting so that effect can be heard while recording instead of only after? Let me know if that makes sense.

I started with 8 but it's been so long ago, but it should have live monitoring for the record armed tracks, and (maybe) that would also include what ever effect is in the track insert.
