Need some advise on a good usb audio interface for a small home studio , I have, laptop win7 , midi keyboard , guitar , speakers , earphones , mic, any ideas for a good budget one would be a great help .

Like you I recently dipped my toe into the usb interface market, migrating off my older PCI gear with an eye towards the future.

My research concluded that MOST of the currently available models were fine, with some subtle performance difference between the lower end units. So I guess what I'm saying is - get the interface that costs the least amount that offers what you want. I went with the Presonus Audiobox because of availability (Guitar Center) and positive online reviews. It's not perfect but doesn't need to be for $150. It just has to work.

I agree, Ive had so many different ones and they are all above the CD spec these days, and the computers today all seem to have so much RAM the plugs work fine for most people. Audio is no longer a huge burden on the computers of today. Its all about what you "need"...like MIDI or maybe you need a bunch of mic inputs..

I was looking at a new NAMM Behringer release and it comes with the DAW too!! a full version.

It has enough I/O's and MIDAS preamps with good gain, you could be set for years.

amazing what you get these days.

for $500 you can get what would have costs several thousands in 91...

What do you think about Line6 Pod Studio UX2 vs. Focusrite Scarlett 2i2?

for Midi the UX2 isnt it, no MIDI.

it does offer this for free plugs though...
