People like a band for different reasons. That is related to taste. I look for a band with a lot of hits to get started. Even though some of the best music a person does does not even make it onto the radio. The radio is filled with bad selections, repetitive selections and music put there by payola.
The few bands that I have liked for many years have stuck together for a long time, have talented musicians and also the writer if in the band has a way to produce a catchy tune. Good recording also helps. I don't think the question was a stupid one or I would have not answered it.
