I notice more and more there are more and more ads and popup ads and its getting amazingly cluttered on my screen when trying to read an article, for example this article on a Heil mic....

is it just me or is there an obnoxious increase in ads?

I wouldn't know. I have Ghostery installed and that kills most ads. Some fora have started serving their own ads, from their own domain, so I see these, but they're not annoying and usually related to the forum topics.

Butt the various other popups seem to increase too. The kind from "sign up for our newsletter" to "you must read this other story". Especially the ones that pop up after 30 seconds or more have increased, making some sites unreadable.

I just read another site if they're over doing that kind of stuff...

Too much good stuff anyways...
 
I turn AdBlock on and off... when my pc is running slow I tend to turn off everything and start deleting extensions.

I dont ads are needed income but when it starts taking over 70% of the screen.... the pops seem to be newer and more intrusive. Like SOS they do the large screen popup "I SEE YOU HAVE ADBLOCKER ON!"

hahaa... maybe I need a bigger monitor so I can see the article content? (joke)
