I'm looking for an affordable 388 or another entry-level 8-track reel-to-reel with an eight or sixteen channel mixer. I am experienced recording with outboard gear on cassette multitrackers and looking to upgrade. not interested in sync capabilities with a computer, MIDI etc... ideally I am looking for equipment that I can reliably use for a good while with basic care (cleaning, calibration) and that won't have a huge learning curve or take up an enormous amount of space. whatever I get will see A LOT of use.
