i know someone can us this!

Just got my unit in trade, just giving a thumbs up as far as this particular guy's honesty and ease to work with.
Somebody buy this thing, it's a good deal.:)

cheap bump!

Someone in another thread was looking for an 8 channel preamp with ADAT........I just can't remember what thread.

The D8 is an 8 channel preamp.
The FS is a firewire interface.
What do you have and what do you need, cause they're different units that are gonna do different things.

The FS is not a Firewire interface. It is similar to the D8, but with more features and a much more flexible routing scheme.

I have the FS. I bought it before Presonus introduced the D8. It's a solid piece of gear. Most of the extra features on the FS are valuable if you want to connect outboard gear and need more flexible routing. The D8 is just a simple 8 input preamp. Also, there are a few cosmetic differences, such as, inputs on the front vs the back, where some of the controls are located, etc. The preamps in the two units are the same.

the reason why i sold these were to fund upgrading to the FS's. i needed the additional outputs. the inputs were fine, but i am working hybrid now and need the extra outputs. the FS's fit the bill perfectly.

Exactly. But for someone who just needs the preamps, the D8 will save them some money.

Is the fancy jitter reducer thing or the ability to make the FS the master clock worth it? I'm amongst the camp who just wants 8 preamps to add to my MOTU Traveler for drum mics.

don't know about the clock, i hear the clock on the digmax fs is pretty good, but i still clock with my firestudio 2626. runs with sonar 8 fine with 24/48.
