    Hey all.

Some of you might know I'm planning to build a deacy amp.
I'm hoping to have the parts for the main amp by Christmas. If not, It'll be new year.

What I do have though is
A diy treble booster that I'm going to build into the amp.
An Lpad for attenuating the master output.
    A DC socket for power
    and
A ragged old speaker cab to put it all in.

Here are a few pics to get it started.

    Back removed.
The visible driver's suspension is stuffed, but the-other one was OK.

Wires tidied and master attenuator fitted.
Note this speaker has a tweeter and attenuator for it. I'm gona leave that in.

    Master volume pot.

Here's an i-phone movie of a quick test.
I'm flicking between a blackstar H-T-1 built in speaker, and this speaker as a cab.

The next thing to do is to fit the treble booster board and mount the gain+volume pots, bypass switch and input jack.

    Stay tuned.

    Nice one Steeno.
That little speaker sounds good for what it is. I hope it does your deacy proud.
That little BlackStar's compact but sweeeeeeet.

    Cheers Rich.

    Here's stage 2.

This is the blank space where the deacy amp will go.
    1 empty.JPG

This is the other side with the booster board mounted and everything else loose.
    2 board.JPG

    That's a little bit neater.
    3 pots inside.JPG

Pots and knobs mounted. The deacy controls will go in a line between input and master volume.
    4 pots outside.JPG

Added a wee handle. Why not?

And another test video to make sure I didn't balls anything.
This is into the blackstar, just using this new cab as a big booster pedal.

That booster sure has some umph.
Is your master volume done on the LPad? from the amp output (eventually)
Is it a stereo one? Looks a bit like one. Maybe your controlling both speakers.
Which Lpad did you use? I mean ohms. 4?
    looking good matey so far.

Well spotted; It is a stereo L-pad.

I couldn't find a 4 ohm one so I got a stereo 8 ohm one and wired it up in parallel.
It will eventually be between the amp board output and the speaker.

Cool. FYI, my keyboard amp had the speaker foam go out. There's a place here in town that recones. Had it done a long time ago. Place is still here. You never know what you'll find in your own backyard.

    Thanks for the info, Jin.

I'll store that-other one away incase I need to do that. I don't imagine findin a good 6" or 6.5" guitar speaker is an easy job.

I love the way this project is heading!
