Set Settings

I've read that you have a lot of pieces of gear that you have more than one of, and that you don't change the settings. Basically, you just have a few LA2As, 1176s, etc, set the ways you like them.

Is this true, is it just a product of trial and error and knowing what you want? It doesn't seem that the same settings would always work for different artists.

Its great to be able to have many many pieces of gear
what makes it great is they all sound different so i set them up for perfect gain
and then pick them for flavor for what the song needs its always different for each song
