Advice for achieving the best mix

Hello again Chris

I know mixing depends on a lot of variables and there's no one way to do things, but
I'm wondering what sort of advice you would give in order to achieve the best mix relative to ones existing software/hardware set-up?

Whether it's to add [x]? Subtract [x]? Step away for a while, or whatever else. Hopefully I made my question understandable

good monitors being consistent all that matters is taken what you are used to and using those to achieve the perfect mix
and low level listening !!
