D-160... good? - Home Recording

I'm looking at a D-160. The only thing I'm worried about is that it's 16-bit. The 20-bit machines are alot more and/or half the tracks (D-160 is 16). How much of a difference are we looking at audibely?

Has anyone used one? How do you like it? Can it be upgraded for 20-bits later? Thanks for your input.
