A friend just gave me his X-18 4-track but it can't get it to power up. It has the correct Fostex AC adapter plugged in. I opened up the case and looked at power connector. It seems to be solidly fastened the board (at least from what I see from above). The top and bottom parts of the case are wired together so I'm afraid to start pulling out cable harnesses to get a look under the power board. One thing, I don't know if this is unrelated, but the battery bay has corrosion on the spring contacts from battery leakage. Could this be shorting out wires? The batteries are plenty far enough away from the power connector so I don't think it could have leaked onto the board. Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks,
Mateo
