fd4 simal. rec. on 4 tracks

In the fostex website under FAQ, there is info on which hdd will enable you to rec. 4 tracks at the same time on the fd4.(also 8 tracks simal. on the fd8) Have not seen any posts on this. Has anyone tried it??

You can record all 4 tracks, but the 2 that you record panned left will bleed together, and the 2 panned right will bleed together. I haven't heard of a way to record 4 seperate simultaneous tracks though

Thanks for the reply, zero. I am trying to research all the limitations. Have not bought the fd4 and even though it is now around $200, there is still much to add to this initial cost ie fx, storage, adapters, etc. I am suprised that there is so little info out there compared to the rolands. I thought the fd4 was the hottest selling digital multitracker. Anyway there is now a band new Fostex vf 16 itroduced in the namm reports. Looks like a better configuration but they have not announced the price as of yet. But this, I am sure, will be another whole column.
