hi everyone
i picked up a fostex x-24 analog cassette four track recorder recently, and i seem to have a problem here. when i lay down a track, and then play it back, the pitch of said track is not the same as it was when i was recording it, and laying another track on top of it makes things sound like crap because of the difference. i am also getting an awful amount of flutter. the tape i´m using is a tdk sa-60, which i´ve been recommended. the pitch control is at 0, of course. has anyone else experienced similar problems, or have i just got a bad unit? thanks in advance |

I had the same problem with my Fostex X14, and my buddy had the same thing with his X24... We both got rid of them. I have a digital DMT8VL nad it's great!
I wouldn't waste any more money on a cassette recorder, I'd go digital hard disk or minidisk.... Just my oppinion; Dom Franco |
