Connectors XLR, TRS to put in wall

I have my mixing board, etc. in one room of a house. The room adjacent contains a piano, drumset, etc. So I came up with this brilliant idea to put an XLR jack thru the wall so I could plug the board into one side, and have cables out the other. I see it almost as a parallel to a control room situation.
As such, I need help to figure this out...Since you guys are so knowledgeable, and Ive learned so much - I figured Id ask here...
So basically -
Where do you recommend I buy connectors which wont give me much signal loss and how do you suggest I put them in the wall. Should I put insulation around them or just treat it like an electrical box. Or - do you recommend something totally different.
The way I see it - I will have 6 XLRs on a plate, and 2 TRS's on another...I will use the TRS to send headphone mixes to a headphone amp in the next room over and I figure I can use one or two XLRs to use to talk to the people in the next room as there is no window.
Does this all make sense? What would you recommend. I could always run 35' Mic Cables down the hall and around but that doesnt seem most efficient.

Although I appreciate it - I dont need links to any store that sells wallplates... - Im just looking for suggestions of

1) Hi quality parts for a reasonable price which people have experience with (aka Markertek, etc.)
2) How to go about doing this / if my plans should be modified

Before I punch a hole in the wall, I want to know exactly what Im doing, and know that what I am doing makes the most sense.

Those wall panels just about cover it all....no pun intended.
What more do you need? Find the studs with a thin screwdriver or studfinder and make an appropriate sized hole in the wall where it needs to be.
If you need the other side to come out in another spot just drill holes through the studs and fish the snake through.

I only use Neutrik or Switchcraft connectors. The Switchcraft more for live use (they're very rugged). See the attached thread for pics of the wall panel I built. They are now in boxes attached to the wall. Like Jake-Owa said, run a snake through the wall with however many channels you need. Always run more than you think you'll need. Use the XLR/ 1/4" combo connectors and they'll double for headphone jacks. Make sure you get the stereo jacks. I got the Neutrik combo jacks at Markertek. I think they sell wall panels too. Most of the other Neutrik jacks I got on eBay a while back. For cable connectors, if needed, look for a seller named "musicwonderland" on eBay. Just got some in yesterday (Neutrik). Good price and quick shipping.

The only place I could find to get the snake cable I wanted (Belden 1800F AES/DBU) by the foot was Pacific Radio. Very nice people. If you need cable by the foot send an email to Donna Chapman at Pacific Radio. Her email is dmc@pacrad.com.

The hole in the wall will be much smaller using snake cable rather than individual cables. You'll use the same cable that's in the snake for your mics, headphones, whatever.

Sorry, I thought I got the snake cable at Pacific Radio. That was actually Belden digital audio cable. I'm sure they also sell snake by the foot too.

Jake - it seems like a contradiction due to poor wording..what I meant was I dont need a link to every store (as in, any old store) that sells plate - that I only need advice for stores which carry high quality / great priced plates.
