Hurricane Isabel comming, Studio or Family pics?

Ok, so i live in Northern Virginia... and apparently we're right in Isabel's path. Then again weather people are morons and are never right about this shit, i personally think it's completely over-rated or gonna be another Y2K haha. Anyways, if a flood came what would you save first Your studio and equipment, family photo's, or your TV? I told my mom I'd save my studio stuff first and she said i had no family pride haha but hey, i was being honest. TV's can be covered by insurance, pictures can be taken over again or gotten from other relatives, but my studio stuff uh uh can't go a day with out.

WHAT WOULD YOU SAVE?

Hey, if I was OTBR's age, I wouldn't be caring much about the pix either.

Kids spend a lotta time looking forward. Gr'ups spend a lotta time looking backward.

I'm not so convinced the WE'RE the ones who have it right.

Prefer a 360 degree view myself - takes a pretty special camera to take pix of dead people, and there's only a dozen or so guitars, a Hammond, a piano and a couple of tape decks that I couldn't replace with better for less money. I'd put the archive drives under the other arm with the pix though... Steve

You should get all your photos on CD; they should survive any flooding (I've been using a digital camera for all my photos for the past 5 years but one of the main projects I have coming up is to get all my "old" family photos scanned and on CDs).

Your Homeowners or Renters Insurance ( you DO have insurance???) should cover any equipment but its a REAL good idea to find out if it will or not. Have a talk with you agent and even if they have to write an extra rider it'd be worth it not to lose EVERYTHING right?

Oh and for fire or theft, BE SURE to save a CD of photos of all your gear and SERIAL NUMBER PLATES. A $30/year bank box (off-site storage) can reallly save your butt......

Hey BlackRock....You are joking aren't you?.....Either that or you don't have a good family ralationship, cause (and Slaps, I don't agree there man), family comes first no matter what....You're completely wrong man, fuck the studio gear, that can be replaced, PHPOTOS CAN"T....I mean, can you take another photo of your family now from 5 years ago?....
To me it's a priority thing...
1-Family
2-Friends
3-everything else...

"pictures can be taken over again"
noooo way, dude.
how the f*ck are ou getting again that picture someone took you when you were 5? and those from family summer vacation.

there was a huge hurricane in mexico a long time ago, before i was born (im 16) that devastated whole cities, dry streets turned into rivers. buildings were really damaged...
maybe isabel its not that strong, but it can do some damage.
you're in a similar situation, and you care about your studio????
c'mon man

i'd give all i have (that is not much) for my family and friends
i feel sorry for you man...

That's rough junior.... BUT........

....it's also not an excuse to be an asshole, or to throw yourself a lifelong pity-party.

We all have shit that happens/happened to us - finding a way of coping with it and getting through it IS what life's all about.

Sure you didn't ask for shit, but you're the one that has to take responsibility for yourself and the way your life turns out.
