Question Complementary Mic pre for NTK

Question for you guys,

If you had to pick a Mic pre to complement the rode NTK for strictly vocal use, which one would you chose in different price ranges? $100- 300, $300-500. $500- and so on.

Thanks for your time/input

Pier

The suggestions above are good ones. I've had really good luck with a Joemeek twinQcs. I've got an Avalon AD2022, which I use for almost everything, except about half of the vocals, and overheads, which generally go through the Joemeek. The Avalon can make the NTK sound harsh on vocals, though, especially in the midrange, but the Joemeek seems to smooth it out just right. If just vocals (one channel), consider a VC1Q, which gives you the same pre with EQ and some lovely optocompression.-Richie

Thumbs up

My partner and I have a MindPrint Envoice that sounds phenomenal with our NTK.

I highly recommend it!
