fixing fostex vf160

after just recently getting a brand new vf160, my cat decided it would be fun to jump on top of the machine and broke the master fader button. i order and recieved the new button replacement and would like to fix it myself if possible. i was told it is a simple fix, however i dont own the service manual and would like to not spend 40 dollars on it or the cost of sending it out. does anyone out there know the steps to fix this problem? i know i have to unscrew the front plate off, but cant figure out how to take the sliders off. please if you have any idea or maybe own a service manual and could tell me please do. i am dying to finally get some song recorded.

My guess is the slider buttons pull off... But don't try this until calling Fostex tech support! Don't bother emailing them. There should be a relatively simple answer. Just don't force anything. Wish I could say more.
