MR8 - Normal or Extended for Wav usage

hi folks. i'm in Leeds UK and have had the MR8 a month now. I recorded a song on extended mode and sent it to my PC via the USB lead. It could be played on my PC while the USB lead was connected, but as soon as i disconnected the lead, my PC would not let me play the song or anything else. Is it true about that it will only transfer to PC properly on Normal mode. Thats what i heard. Thanks

Although I rarely use the extended format, I have transfered WAV files both directions.
