Digidesign PRE?

We have a Digidesign "PRE" here in our office at the studio. It hasn't been used. They have been using the Control 24 pre's which are supposedly crap. I can't find much info of the quality of these pre's though. They sell for over $2000 (8 channels). I would like to hear from someone who has used them to know where they fall as far as comparison to other pre's. If you break it up they are roughly $300 per pre. Thanks

is it the"PRE" for the PTHD systems? i heard the pres are low end focusrite pres... i've used the control24 and i wasn't pleased with its pres either..

It is. The Control 24 pre's are the cheap focusrite style, however the "PRE" has better preamps according to Pro Tools. I am just curious if they are really good, or just better.

i wouldn't worry about the pre..i say if you have it.. try it.. if it gives you the sound you want.. all good.. if not sell it..
