HomeRecording.Comp (Compilation CD)

Ok all you newbs, I just wanted to let you know about HomeRecording.Comp Volume II. It is a 3 CD set (real CD's, no cheap CDR crap) containing 40 tracks from all your favorite stars of the Mixing Clinic here.

If this project is something you'd like to be involved with in the future, then I recommend starting now by buying your very own copy

Pictures, info, and online ordering can be found here:

http://www.homerecording.com/compcd

P.S. - no you don't have buy this thing to get a track on the next one...the project has always been open to all active members. But, buying one now ensures that the BBS and project will still be here when it comes time for Volume III!

Yeah, what's the deal with this comp cd?? Is it a real thing? Does it really support this wonderful BBS?

Maybe the answer can be found at one of these links:

I would just like to point out that SM2K has a wonderfully great original song on this CD.

And to all who would buy it, you will not be disappointed, out of the three disks, there are quite a few great, good and decent songs to be enjoyed.

BRAVO SLACKMASTER !!!

Shakey,

Your link is bad... the web server is case-sensitive, no doubt.

It should be:

http://www.helensventitsky.com/NEWS.htm

though it's better to tell people to go to the site

http://www.helensventitsky.com/

and choose "News" from the menu. Otherwise your site is not being viewed the way you want it to be, and there's no navigation available to a visitor.

You are also making a bunch of other mistakes, like linking from a "framed" page to an external website but loading it inside your frame rather in the full browser window. This is the kind of thing that makes people stay away from using frames and why people like AudioWebs pontificate that "no real web developer uses frames any more" (spoken with a pronounced sneer).

I'll email you some more on this... plus I'll try to listen to your tune today sometime...

I'm pretty sure you can play these at 78rpm with a small enough stylus.

I'm maybe thinking about getting one, but I'm not quite ready to commit to such a big investment at this point in my like with my financial situation and all.

OK who else? Is there an artist/song list available? I certainly don't want to listen to three discs of Father Time tracks!

Is this actually GOOD music that will warrant repeated listens, or merely a bunch of hacks with 4 track portastudios and a ploy to fund raise for homerec? I mean I like dog's towel and sluicey fruit's stuff! Can't say that I've heard a dobro song. Oh wait, I do remember a pretty cool "Beatley" song going back a way. So is this their good stuff, or just stuff they know they'llnever use so they can throw out the copyright?

Has this recording received any press? Any reviews in online fanzines?

And why didn't slack ever ask ME to do something this!?
