whats the best amp

Hi
Im a new member to this site and I was wondering what was the best amp for me.
I want a Rack amp that doesnt break the bank but is good for a home studio. I dont want a budget one that will break 5 months but i dont want the best either.

What sort of amp are you talking about? Is it for guitar, monitors...what?

If it's for guitar...

You can find plenty of Rocktron rack mount power amps on eBay. I've got a Velocity 160, the Velocity 120s are more prevalent. This is power amp only, you'll need to use a separate pre-amp or pedals to add tone shaping and distortion before going into the Velocity.

Basic trouble free amps= QSC, or Crowns. Basic 2 channel for PA or studio monitors. I use a large Adcom 555 for my studio, no fan noise, more dynamic than a rack mount, it only has RCA inputs though, thats ok because my mixer is RCA outs.......

I want it for monitors. Could you give me links to info on these amps. I was wondering if I could also use the amp as a foldback amp aswell?

By "the best" I mean one that you would use in a professional studio, I just want one that I can use for playing back my songs.

I think the Hafler P3000 is one of the best amp bargains out there. Outstanding performer and, if you search online, you can find them for about $500.
