Hey WALDO!!...got a question for ya'

I've been trying to upload a song and I keep getting a "This Page Can Not Be Displayed" message and when I click on 'Detect Network Settings' it goes to your page where I see:

No file chosen
Error in passing script, no sid
Error in passing script, no aid
Error in passing script, no alid
File is not an mp3

It's definitely an MP3 file.
Any suggestions?

lol - now, this is not directed at Lt. Bob, who simply had a question; it's just an observation. Has anybody ever noticed how just about the only time we see Waldo threads in the Clinic it's when there's a problem? I mean, it's normal I guess...you didn't read or hear a lot about the NE Power Grid that runs the Eastern half of our country and Canada until it went out, but still, maybe we should notice when stuff's working WELL too.

Has anybody else noticed that NWR has been running like a clock lately? Granted, I can't d/l as much music as I used to these days, but still...it seems faster and more stable and stuff.

Just an observation.

I'm glad Chris noted that I only asked a question 'cause I have never ever knocked Waldo in any way. He's awesome in his dedication and service.
I'm just hoping to upload this test pressing before I go on vacation tomorrow so some collab buddies can check it out.
Maybe one of ya'll could upload something real quick and let me know if it's just me.

[edit] - Oh, you said Upload...my bad. Try this; rename the file something else b/f you upload it. I've put 3 remixes on my page today w/o a problem.

Chris' idea is worth a try, but I don't think that's the fix - I get a different error message if I try to upload an mp3 there with the same name twice (pisses me off too that I don't find out it won't work until the whole thing's uploaded ). But try renaming it. Fool the Nowhere server!

I recently had this problem when I was uploading a file to 'overwrite' a currently existing file. I was 'updating' a file.

When I changed the name of the file I was uploading, it worked.

I would guess that the web server upon recieving the file attempts to overwrite a database field that has a lock on it. The information in that field cannot be overwritten as it is locked.

As a result, the script continues and then attempts to gather the information on the file that has been uploaded, in order to record that information, but it is not available as the first step of writing that information was never achieved.

Changing the name of the file you are trying to update works fine.

And if you deleted the original file and still got the same problem this further reinforces my theory. The 'Security Identifier' cannot be overwritten at all, the security is to tight on that database field or on that file.

No, the file is not the same name as anything else and I even tried renaming it but that didn't work.
It's pretty frustrating but then I guess I don't have to worry about how anyone reacts to my tunes anymore........oh well, goodbye.

Lt. Bob, sounds like your ISP may have had an issue, and that 'error' page is now cached. Clear your local cache, ISP cache, and force a manual refresh (ctrl-F5 on IE) on that page. Then try again!

Happens some time, cache systems were poorly designed from the beginning....

Oh, PS, the 2nd shirt is just being ordered for print now, as just the other day we finally made bare minimum to cover the expense (A whopping 10 shirts). A lot more people said they were going to order them, and then I never heard from them, but oh well, it was worth a try.
